I was recently contacted by the creators of a new snack bar who were wondering if I would review their product. Honestly I usually decline these types of inquiries but I was interested to learn that the bar was going to be the first of it’s kind – a packaged low FODMAP snack bar.
For those of you not familiar with a low FODMAP diet, it is used to treat symptoms associated with IBS, inflammatory bowel disorders and other digestive diseases or concerns. Certain types of carbohydrates, called fermentable carbohydrates, can trigger gas, bloating, pain, discomfort, diarrhea, constipation, etc in many sensitive individuals. To learn more about them, please click the link below to visit a website from a trusted colleague and authority on the topic. I always recommend working with a professional when using dietary modifications for symptom resolution or disease treatment.
I use low FODMAP guidelines when working with many clients. So imagine my excitement and willingness to participate in spreading the good news.
I really wish I had pictures of the actual bar. However, I ate it one night about midnight after getting home from a one day, 8 hour round trip road trip to IKEA to pick up furniture (which was totally worth it). Anyway, I was tired but my tummy was hungry just as my husband was walking in with the mail (yes, at midnight – he’s obsessed and must get it EACH DAY). As I was opening the cupboard for something small and quick, he handed the envelope to me.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. Need I say more? It was heavenly. Seriously superb. Would have eaten another sample size if it had been there ☺
And check out this ingredient list! All wholesome ingredients. I could make it at home myself if I wanted to. But I don’t have to because I can buy it. Doesn’t get better than that!
I am very happy to help spread the word about this bar. I know my clients will be so relieved to finally have a quick option to keep on hand. Let’s spread the word so it will hit the shelves! Click the link below to be directed to their kickstarter campaign.
